While Word for Mac and Windows are largely compatible, there are platform-specific issues to be aware of.

Common Issues and Fixes

Issue 1: Word Crashes on Mac

1. Close Word completely
2. Open Finder > Go > Go to Folder
3. Type ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Templates/
4. Delete Normal.dotm
5. Reopen Word — a fresh template is created

Issue 2: Font Differences Between Mac and Windows

1. Some Windows fonts aren’t available on Mac (and vice versa)
2. Use cross-platform fonts: Arial, Times New Roman, Calibri, Cambria
